I don't understand the logic behind the "The Internet" and "Work" setttings. What's the idea here, how is this useful, and is the idea behind these similar to anything in pc's?
I use PPC2002, but I believe the concept is similar on WM2003.
Each one is basically a "container" or profile that includes the settings. So you have a container called Work settings and a container called Internet settings. You then configure each one. Finally you tell the PPC which container the NIC is reading from.
Just to add to what Howard said - my understanding is that the defaults are for the "Work" settings to be a LAN connection while the "Internet" is a modem (dial-up) connection.
