MSN messenger won't work!!!

I just got my x5 and MSN won't work even though I'm connected and my browser will work. I try to log in and it gives me some bs message about how "logon to msn messenger failed b/c the service is not compatible w/ this version of the program" HELP PLEASE!

you have to download the security patch aviable on microsofts site.

I have got the same problem too.
I have been trying to find a more recent version of MSN Messenger for Pocket PC to download from the Microsoft website, but cannot find one...

Anyone knows where to get a more recent version..?

I tried that security patch and it still doesn't work. I get the same message. I guess i can try to install it again..

yeah, I installed the one for ppc2003 and it installed correctly. I even re-installed it to make sure. Still pops up w/ same msg. Thanks for your help though. btw, are there any special settings I should have set to make it work. I've got the internet working on it so I figured it would work for messenger too.

I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM

before the update it worked but after updating in won't connect, I have done a soft reset with no effect, STILL can't connect. There has to be a problem with the patch !!

I got my Dell Axim5 friday all working apart from msn - found this forum, downloaded the patch and it works just great. my tom tom 2 icon has disappeared but a blown fuse in the car is preventing me from using/testing that - a HUGE thankyou to the person who posted the patch what a great forum!
