Hi All,

I'm new here and i'm waiting for my new Axim Advanced. I was poking around on Dell's forums and noticed people talking about a revision code on the back of the Axim. Apparently the original shipments shipped with revision code A00. Someone on the board mentioned that the new ones should be up to A05 but he had received an A04 recently. Can anyone explain what the differences are between the Axims with different Revision codes? I'm awaiting my new Axim. When it arrives, should it be an A04 or A05? And how will it be different from the originals. Apparently there might be some "fixes" for the later units. Anyone have any info on this topic? Thanks in advance.

And whatever happened to the D- button fix? I want to play Wolfenstien!

A00 refers to the software ROM version which can be checked with the builtin 'System Info'.

A04/A05 refers to the hardware version which can be found at the back of the unit when you remove your battery.

According to ppl who have done RMA with their Ax, they claimed that there are no difference at all in terms of performance, etc..

Cheers.

Mine is an A00 and I recieved in in early January... works great and I love it. The revision number of your Ax can be found in System Info if you need to know the revision number of the software in ROM. Doesn't really mean a thing for the end user. Relax...

Ciao,

Ron
