Wierd inbox problem

I'm using wm2003 and have two accounts set up on my ax - my main e-mail account via my work intranet - identified as activesync on my ax and a pop e-mail account.

When I access the inbox via the start menu then all works fine - inbox comes up, shows my e-mails etc...

...but if I push the inbox hardware button instead - the bottom bar changes on the ax - But I don't get the e-mails show up on the main part of the screen. If I go back via the inbox shortcut - all is fine again!

Anyone got any ideas - once I've got the inbox showing properly I can press the hardware button to switch between accounts.

I have already tried resetting the hardware button - but also think about the above - looks like it works ok

Since seen lots of other posts - have found that restoring defaults under buttons seems to have fixed it for now....we'll see I guess

Insomnia is the Axim user's best friend. I apologize for copying and pasting this message in several threads, but I found a solution, and hope everyone suffering from this annoying hardware button bug will be able to use it.

Using Resco Explorer go to Windows/AppButtons. Tap and hold over Inbox, and choose Properties. Go to the Shortcut tab on the bottom. Replace the entry :MSINBOX in the line in the middle with "\Windows\tmail.exe" (include the quotation marks). Tap OK. Problem solved. It seems like Microsoft (or Dell, or both) screwed up the default Inbox software shortcut; this fix points the shortcut directly to the Inbox program, rather than using the default reference. I guess it should work if you point it at any other mail client you are using. Let me know if it helped!

I like that comment, insomnia's best friend.

Did you fig. this out using existing posts? Also, never heard of tmail.exe. What/where did this program come from?

Hey Dekruyter,

The only possible solution I managed to find in existing posts was to try and use "restore defaults" in the button mapping applet; I found that posting after I found my own solution, so I can't tell you if it actually works. Every now and then it appears I manage to have a semi-original thought of my own. tmail.exe is the original WM2003 Inbox program. Don't ask me why it's not called pmail.exe - I might be tempted to make nasty speculations about Microsoft employees' spelling skills. The most important thing - did my solution work for you?
