How to Sync or transfer pop emails from Axim to Pc (Outllok)?

Hello
I have an IMAP or POP email account set on my Axim.It downloads the emails directly (no need to sync with Outlook).
But now I want to pass these emails from my Axim to my Desktop PC. I mean to Outlook.
How can this be done?
I tried to move the emails on the Axim Pop account to Axims ActiveSync account but it doesn't let you do that.

I dont have this emails anywhere else.
All this happens beause I upgraded to WMobile 2003 and restoring the backed up emails (with Pocket Backup Plus)
just make the Inbox useless. Or even a backup done with the Axim utility just dont work also.
So if I could sync the emails from WMobile 2002, I might have a chance. Or maybe someone knows how to restore the backed up emails and make the INBOX work (registry settings, files to be copied,...) It seems INBOX in WM2003 and 2002 are not compatible. Really stupid thing from Microsoft.

Thanks, I have searched trough the forum and couldnt find and answer, but I am sure others must have faced this problem.

PS:sorry for my english (I am Spanish)

I don't know how your backup software works, but when I upgraded from PC2002 to PC2003 I backed up the entire Axim using ActiveSync's Full Backup Tool. This worked for me from PC to PC2002 and also worked from PC2002 to PC2003 without any problems. I didn't have to reinstall any apps and I didn't have to recover any data - ActiveSync -> Tools -> Backup -> Full did the job both times and it's free.

Meanwhile, I am sorry to hear that your Inbox is broken, but you may be able to fix it easy with a little hard work:

1. Sync up your Axim to Outlook and manually Import the emails on your Axim into Outlook using Outlook's File -> Import.

2. Make sure you have backups of all your data and the install files and passwords for all your Axim programs. REMOVE ALL CARDS!!!

3. Run the Axim A03 upgrade to DOWNGRADE your Axim back to PC2002.

4. Reinstall all software and data and configure it the way you want - DO NOT TRY TO GET ANY NEW POP MAIL YET.

5. Install the latest ActiveSync (3.71) on your PC - it will upgrade your current ActiveSync.

6. TURN OFF ALL DATABASES under ActiveSync's settings so NOTHING will sync automatically.

7. Sync your Axim and click on TOOLS -> Backup/Restore -> Full Backup -> Change (type in a filename for your full backup on your PC - make sure there is room on your hard disk - you will only be backing up the Axim, not any cards).

8. Perform FULL backup - may take several hours.

9. Run PC2003 upgrade on Axim.

10. Resync as GUEST then Restore using the file name you made in step 7 - may take several hours.

Afterwards, your full functionality (including the Inbox) should still be working just as it was under PC2002. You can use ActiveSync and enable its databases to pull down the mail from Outlook and vice-versa. You should also be able to transfer your new POP mail from the Axim's Inbox to Outlook over ActiveSync just as under PC2002.

Good luck

Where is that option in STEP1?
"1. Sync up your Axim to Outlook and manually Import the emails on your Axim into Outlook using Outlook's File -> Import."

I have Outlook 2002 and ActiveSync 3.7.1
There is nothing in Outlook FILE -> IMPORT to select the Axim or Pocket Outlook

Help please!
Thanks

Also DELL says loud and clear in the upgrade instructions:

"Because of differences in the file storage format between Pocket PC 2002 and Pocket PC 2003, neither the Microsoft® ActiveSync backup utility nor the Dell Data Backup utility can be used to migrate data from Pocket PC 2002 to Pocket PC 2003. You must read and understand the following instructions about migrating your data from Pocket PC 2002 to Pocket PC 2003 before attempting the upgrade to ensure that you do not lose any of your files or data.

You can use ActiveSync 3.7 to back up and restore data using two methods:
Automatic synchronization – Used for data such as PIM and Microsoft Outlook data
Manual backup – Used to back up files that do not need to be backed up continuously "

So how can you say you made it?I think there is some mistake on your words.

Worried

I apologize you are having trouble understanding this. I am not good communicating this, so I am sorry. The Acitvesync Tools Backup is a "manual backup" as per the instructions from Microsoft.

Here is a messy way to use Outlook to import your mail:

(Assuming you have synced your Axim to your PC and you have a permanent partnership - this will show your PDA on all your file explorer screens when you browse.)

1. Sync Axim.

2. Open Outlook 2000.

3. File

4. Import and Export

5. Import from another program or file

6. Comma Separated Values (Windows)

7. Browse button - here is where you scroll down to your Axim (the yellow PDA icon), open it up, and browse to the folder where your mail files reside and select them.

The results are not pretty, but you'll be able to recover the text of your email.

I hope this helps.
