First of all I have the processor set to the normal setting so it runs at 300 Mhz...it's the 300Mhz processor. Anyway, when I tap the speaker icon at the top of the today screen it takes what seems like and eternity (actually like 3 sec) for the slider bar to pop up. Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

It isn't a major issue just kinda annoying.

Thanks!

I have the Axim with the 400 Mhz processor, whenever I tap on the speaker icon at the today screen, the slider bar pops up immediately for me. I don't have too much running in the background though, I usually go into Memory and stop whatever program is still running that I exited.

Yep, when I close all running programs it pop right up. That still sucks cuz why would you want to adjust the volume when you are not running a program? I have the crazy desire to change the volume while running WMP. I don't get why it would take so much longer just because an app is running. <_<

When you're using WMP (Windows Media Player, right?), the volume slider bar there is the same as the one up in the corner of the screen.
I have WMP playing the background right now, have Monopoly running in the background, and I'm using Pocket Word. When I tap on the speaker icon on the corner there, it takes a second for it to pop up. So there is a slight one second delay.

If you button-map your D-pad up/down to volume when using WMP, you'll have it readily available and it's instant. The side toggle will do the same function then also.
Another usefull trick is controlling brightness by pushing in the scroll button and using the D-pad up/down.
