Hi,

Is there a way to automatically setup pocket outlook to download email attachments to my secure data card?

Thanks,

Sabesh

Another registry tweak. Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PMail\MessageStore\

Change the "AttsOnCard" value to 1 to make it use a storage card. Then find the value called "AttsDir" in the same key. Copy that value (don't change it) and then use File Explorer to create a folder on your memory card with that same name.

Warning - if you do this and then remove the memory card or delete the folder you created on it, the next time Outlook tries to save an email attachment, it will hang and require a soft reset.

On my Axim the PMail key is a sub key right under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
and the AttsDir is located at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox

I changed the AttsOnCard to 1 and created the folder on the SD Card with the name:

Inbox.mst295435582.3603305728

Sent myself a message with attachment and it does not save to the SD Card.

What am I goofing up?

Sorry about the confusion. I was referring to some notes on Pocket PC 2000. In 2002, simply go to your inbox, tap on "Tools", select "Options", and then tap the "Storage" tab. There is a checkbox to tell inbox to put attachments on the storage card.

BTW - Microsoft also fixed the problem of your inbox hanging up if you get a message with an attachment and the storage card is missing or the folder is gone from the card.

Unfortunately, Tools, Options and Storage does not give a pick for the SD Card. I think we're going to have to figure out a registry hack for PC 2002 as well.

Getting closer though.

Has anyone solved this problem yet, please? I tried the registry hack with the same result - no result. How do we know that changing the "AttsOnCard" value to "1" makes it go to the SD slot and not the CF slot? (I don't have a CF memory card to check this.) I also tried changing the "AttsStartOnCard" value to "1" as well, but still nothing.
I would be grateful for any help on this as the internal stockage is too small for the e-mail attachments that I want to keep.
Can anyone out there help, please?
Nick
