Question Contacts Categories

Love my Axim. I've had it for a little over a week and it's doing everything I need - so far. Any problems I've had so far I've concluded are not Dell's problem, but MS', and I've had great response from fellow contributors and the hosts of this site.

Now it's time for my latest head-scratcher - Are contacts "categories" in WM2003 the same thing as contacts subfolders in Outlook 2002? I'm trying to figure out how to get all of my Outlook Contact subfolders synched over to my Axe.

Is there something obvious I've missed?

One more thing, which will be the subject of a later post - when I synch to my home computer, I always end up with a number of unresolved items (usually 13 - an appropriate number this close to Hallowe'en) - and an Outlook screen that I can't figure out.

Categories are a little used function in Outlook. They are not subfolders.

It's an easy way to group your contacts. I use several, like listing different departments at Work, Fire Department(I'm a volunteer), Personal, Business, Tech Support.

In Outlook, you can set up your contacts to be grouped by category, making it easier to find who/what you are looking for.

Thanks Jimmy - you guys haven't failed me yet (mind you, it's only been a week!) I rejigged all my contacts (about 500) from subfolders to categories - and they synched great - the only glitch is that my 10 contacts codes as "business" would lock up the Axe when I tried to view them - so I just recoded them as "misc" and all was well. Thanks again.

Not sure if you know this, but you can also have catergories as members of multiple catergories. Can be handy.
