sync changes email for contact?

ok im really confused. when i sync my axim, it aoutomatically changes any email address that ends in @us.army.mil to just the first letter of the email address. for example joe.snuffy@us.army.mil is changed to j. then the next time i sync it changes all of the address in outlook to this single letter. since im a LT, i have many army emails in my contacts list. anyone haveany idea how to fix this? thanks,

I have a TON of us.army.mil addresses and do not have that problem. Very odd.

ok i've found that it is not an activesync thing. it also changes the email when i import or export to excel. any help would be greatly appreciated.
