record problems

I try to record by pushing the record button on the side and I receive the following error message "Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename"

However, I can go to Notes and initiate record with the Icon and it works just fine. I tried a soft reset and no help. Do I have to have a certain program open in order for the side button work, or should it function any time the button is pushed?

I receive the same error message even when I have a now note open and press the side record button.

Trying to avoid the dreaded "Hard Reset". Anyone have any ideas???????????

Goto settings, personal tab, and look at the buttons icon. Did the record button get assigned to a program you no longer have installed?

I looked and the Record Button is Assigned to Record.

Sorry, I only have 1 idea per day and I've used my limit
I'm sure somebody smarter than I am can help you. I'll keep looking in case an idea comes to me tomorrow.

I think it means a hard reset, unless someone knows how to find that path in the registry. Since you probably can't do a restore without reinstating the problem, it might be worth the effort to find out.
