short, to the point and I don't look like a total dweeb asking if anyones seen my PDA.
Sure there is nothing wrong with asking a friend to come over and meet the family and introducing them to all your favorite inanimate objects. Sure, nothing wrong with that at all...
I am a network admin - I'm boring I guess. My servers are named STLDC1, STLDC2, etc.... call me boring!
Desktop - Arcus
Laptop - Clarence
Backup Server - Backup (yeah!)
Son's PC - Bill
Axim - Baxter
Baxter? WTF? Why Baxter?
Anybody remember the Blandings Castle stories by PG Wodehouse? They're less well known than the Jeeves stories, but no less funny. Anyway, the owner of Blandings Castle (who would much rather rear pigs and grow roses than be the owner of a Stately Home) is Lord Emsworth. His secretary is Rupert Baxter, known throughout as The Efficient Baxter.
I named my axim Loki... it's fitting because it's changing the way i approach working on things and it's full of mischievous little games, i mean tools to get "work" done...
the big server at home is called Odin (dual 120 gig video and mp3 pvr/jukebox) and the development machine is Thor.
Well, the Axim is a "Digital Assistant", right? So I named mine after that cool flying yellow robot that "assisted" the profesor on the movie "Fllubber". That is "Weebo" :D Don't go stealing it though
hehe :p

Odd that I never thought to name any of my PCs although they do get called names sometimes when they misbehave! but I do refer to my Axim as Max or Buddy. :D

Dunno where you live, but I'm pretty sure that we'll never meet. I love the tale you told, and I like the fact that there's an Ax in there, so I think that I'll have to borrow your name.
I'm with ChirstineC on the naaming of my toys. It's only when they're bad that they get called names. However, since my Ax is with me at all times, it only makes sense in this case to give him a proper name.
