CDPD Wireless Internet or Better?

I am thinking on getting CDPD wireless internet to access the internet in northern Virginia area which I know has coverage.

I know CDPD has its advantages but Its pretty slow, around 9.96 kbps I believe. Does anyone here know of cheap cdpd modems and access? (Right now the cheapest I know is from verizon for $30/month unlimited use). Is there anything better than CDPD in terms of using internet anywhere in the Northern VA and DC area (perhaps maybe faster)?
