I currently use the Krussel Leather cases, and i cant get my thumb through to turn on and off the device.
Is there an application that i can link to on the today screen (with tdlaunch or similar) that turns off the pocketpc? I know some programs link to poweroff and softreset but i havent found out how to do this myself.
If not, does anyone know a way around this problem of turning on and off the device with a case like this. Its a real pain, and I'd like to hear some of your solutions!!
Thanks, Alex

You can set how long the Axim waits for input before shutting off on it's own in the power settings (30 seconds is the lowest). You can also have the application buttons power on the Axim, so you don't have to worry about hitting to little power button.

Yeah but if you use the app buttons, doesn't it launch the program which was mapped to that button. Anyway, right now mine doesnt turn on if a button is pressed, only comes back from the dim screen setting. I guess i'll have to change the settings.
Still, i'm looking for the directory path of the app that turns off the ppc like the one used by the launcher in journalbar/batterypack. This would be my best bet,
Please, if anyone knows, i'd really appreciate the input!

PowerCheck puts an icon on the Today screen that will shut it down. It also has a reset icon and battery bar. Iremember it's freeware but I cannot remember where I got it. A search on the site or google should turn it up.

Sorry I didn't read your post closely enough. If you just want the shutdown option, I noticed another ap in the downloads - Power Off which just puts a shutoff icon on the Today screen. Still doesn't tell you how but I'm not sure there's a need to reinvent the wheel.

A Freware app. that will do what you want (and a great deal more besides) is Icbar, obtainable from Aximsite>Downloads>Desktop & Shell>Icbar. You can configure this to put a shut down icon on your Task Bar which is thus always available wherever you are. An extremely useful program highly recommended.
Another free option is "Shutdown Windows XP Style" from Aximsite>Downloads>Utilities (page 2). This will not put an icon on the Today screen by itself, but you can always put it into your start menu or use Launcher - also in Downloads>Desktop & Shell immediately below Icbar.
Another vote for Handy Menu. Not only do you get the power off option, you can soft reset, hard reset, and lots more. And the price is very nice, too :D.
I like poweroff, and it suits my needs perfectly. Thanks you guys!! I think i will also look into icbar as i always wanted to try it. Thanks again, i can now use my Axim much more easily in my krussel case. Thanks again
Alex
