Power Point on Axim?

I am looking to buy an Axim for my brother for X-mas, but he needs a pocket pc that he can run power point presentations from. Can this be done with the Axim? And if so, do I need anything extra than what comes installed on the Axim. And can it be hooked up to a projector and what do I need for that? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm a novice at all this.

I purchased the IA presenter card and have used it a few times with limited success. I think the problem is my projector not the card itself.

When it works, it is great, razzle-dazzled the management in my presentation of how we can use PDA's here!

I have used Margi's Presenter-to-Go, available at www.margi.com for $199. They provide a compact flash card, cable to connect to the projector, an IR remote that works great and software. The software places an icon in the regular powerpoint software that when clicked renders the presentation into the format that the pocket PC can understand. While the resolution is execellent, pictures come out with a modeled look.

From the axim, the user can hide/unhide and move slides. The Presenter-to-Go will not trigger media (play music, videos) or hyperlinks but works great otherwise. (Windows Media Player will play simultaneously with Presenter-to-Go.)

I used it twice a week for about six months now and have been extremely happy with it. It sure beats lugging the old laptop around for seminars and is a much quicker setup.

Good Luck!!

There are a couple of CF video adapters on the market that will work with the X5 – Margi Presenter-2-Go as mentioned by MTANGEN and FlyPresenter (which I assume this is the same as the IA Presenter lassey mentioned). I have the FlyPresenter which works well after a bit of a learning curve. You can use it with video screens/projectors or on TVs and it works with IA Presenter (a slightly different version than the one that comes with the Axim). A point I should make about the IA Presenter is that it doesn’t use native ppt files. The PowerPoint presentations are converted to *.iap files when you transfer them to the Axim via ActiveSync. While to can modify the order of slides in the presentation on the Axim, you cannot edit content on the PPC. I think Presenter-2-go may have greater flexibility in the software you use for the presentations. There is a review on the Margi Presenter-2-Go by JakeRich. The FlyPresenter costs a little less than the Margi card.

Flypresenter costs a lot less than the Margi Card...I paid 89 bux for mine. That was the deciding factor for me.
