Well I ordered the Axim 400 quite soon after it was released in the UK, which was the 3rd of Feb.

I was then given the following shipping dates:
15th Feb
then 27th Feb
and now 3rd March

I just spoke to someone from Dell to see whether this was a realistic estimate or not. She said that they don't expect to get any stock until then.

I wonder whether anyone else in the UK still has an earlier ship date than this?

I had hoped availability would have been better over here, as the release date had been planned for quite a while (and I'd certainly been waiting for it to be available in the UK since November). Oh well, judging by the posts on this forum I'm sure the wait will be worthwhile...

again i'm in the uk, ordered an axim 400 3rd Feb, estimated ship 5 - 10 days.

Ship date then went out to the 27th, then 3rd, and today the 5th. The unit is still in pre-production.

Maybe the dates are all wrong on the site? let us know if it arrives on the 17th?

Oooh you lucky people, my order status still says that it can't find the order! Mind you, I did only order it a couple of days ago. :-(

Sounds rather familiar.

Ordered mine on 4th Feb with 7 days delivery, web site date just keeps getting pushed back. Spoke to Dell yesterday & after MUCH confusion got a date of the 19th Feb. Don't believe it though.

I've resigned myself to it getting here when it gets here. Can't believe Dell didn't gear up for the demand.

Yeah that's true Andy. They should have sorted this out, it isn't the right way to start a relationship with your customers.

I only ordered mine on Wednesday and it highlighted clearly to expect two weeks delivery. Has it always said that?

My order highlighted a two week wait when I ordered, but to wait until the 5th March is a bit more like a month than two weeks! :(

I had the same problem. Hit the email link and you'll get a mail back (mine was the following day) with some blurb saying about how long they say it'll be. Included will be your dell customer & order numbers - I didn't think anything about this until I realised they were completely different to my original one.

Entering these into the order tracking gets a valid order status (pre-production - delivery 7/3 :( )

Well I just called them... the current estimate is March 5th... that's three weeks after the order date :(

Oh well. At least it's something to look forward to... (he said, biting his lip)

Perhaps it would have been better for Dell to advertise the Axim for release in early March for the UK, with the option of pre-ordering in February...

My delivery date was scheduled for 3/3 yesterday when I checked, so I phoned Dell and vigourously complained.
I also sent a rather forceful e-mail to the guy I ordered it from.
Today, I've gone to check the status and I get this -

We have located your order but we cannot advise a status, please email Dell Customer Care following the instructions below and we will be in contact with you.

Strange.

To make it even weirder, there was a parcel delivered today but I was in bed (work nights) so couldn't receive it. It's now waiting at the Post Office.
I have ordered an X-box game off the net too but I didn't pay for it until yesterday and today I had an e-mail from that company to state that it was sent out recorded delivery today.
Could this be my Axim or my game? (Very fast delivery for both)
I'll find out tomorrow morning, the wait is really gonna get to me

HH.

Let us know HH! If it's the Axim, fantastic, if it's the Xbox game, hopefully it'll keep you busy until the Axim arrives.
