When I have my Ax in the cradle, on AC power, I like to have the screen never dim. Should I be worried about an image burned-in on the screen? I know on some monitors this is an issue (hence, screen savers), but will leaving the Ax at full brightness while in the cradle eventually leave an image on the screen?

No, "burn in" is only an issue with CRT monitors. Your Axim, as well as LCD Flat Panel monitors, are not affected by this. There are "screensavers" like Pocket Candy available for PocketPCs, but they're purely for show.

There is the possibility of dead-piexels... and there is a certain life span for the light (warranty on those ranges from a year to three for some LCD manufacturers) But this applies to LCD panels, I dunno how it applies to the Ax' trans-flective display since it's a slightly different technology. I seldom use my Ax at the max brightness just for the battery sake, and the idea that using something to the max will shorten its life cycle.

Cheers.

Burn in IS possible with LCD's! I've seen it happen. We have a Mac G4 with 17" LCD display in my office. One night the cleaning people must have turned the computer on and it sat at a login screen all weekend. Well that login screen image was visible on the display for about a week before it disappeared.

So yes it can happen.
