I understand what your saying. But thats not what comes up when I left click the exe. file. The software is funky, thats why everyone is having problems.

That's exactly what happens when most of us do this. It's not funky for everyone. That's why people are trying to figure out what's different for you. You can't just blame the software or we'd all be having the exact same thing happen and we aren't. It seems very likely that you are not running the same version that we are. Or maybe it has to do with a setting you're using or an software conflict of some kind. We all have the same hardware so we know it's not that.

What exactly does come up on your PC screen (not your PPC screen) when you execute the .exe file (as if to install?) What is the very first thing you see? The second? etc.

An omegaone logo pops up and says loading. Thats it. Its true the software's not funky for everyone including me. My version 1.1.2 works fine. The only problem I have is that I dont have any documentation for the version on my Ax.

I do blame the software, if you go back and read the problems people have posted you will find at least 11 people have been having the same problems. Not to mention other forums complaining about problems with the omega one battery bar. You can also go to the omega one web site and find that they admit to problems with the software.

You should. You aren't running the most current version, which is 1.1.3. I had the same thing until I got the newest version. With 1.1.3 I get the version nuber on the PPC as well as regular updates of everything. I'm not saying there haven't been probelms, there have been. But all the upgrades are free and with each one you get a better product. The only trouble I had with 2 was I sometimes had to force updates and it didn't show the version number. This version takes care of all that.

I tried to post a one star factual detailed review on Handango stating JB updates once and never again, sometimes works when soft reset, etc. Handango email me that it refused to post the review. Don't know why - I just stated what I experienced.

But Alexa from OO replied with 2 emails - one which restated to do what I have been doing (hold section icon down and release) and another which states another update "We are releasing a new version next week which we hope will help solve the problems you have." OO is trying, but what about Handango?

I tried to get this app to work throughout the demo period, but had problems with updates to everything but the weather. After I deleted it, I found I prefer the cleaner look of my Today page without all of the the flashy geegaws.

Journal Bar has been updated to 1.2 on 3/9/03 and it's handango and pocketgear. Unfortunately my previous trial version expired and I can't reinstall this one to see if they fixed their non-update problems. Maybe I'll email Omega One and see if they can do anything.

I just installed the newest verion about an hour ago. It appears that the sync feature is now working properly. Every ten minutes on the nose my stocks page has been updating without a glitch. This is the only one that I have going, but it is working fine.

Alexa of Omega One support emailed back. She says to set the date back to trial the 1.2 version if 1.1.3 trial has expired. Not the most elegant but the easiest solution. I don't have a problem at all with their presales support. It's great. Let's hope the product works without hitches.

I just loaded 1.2 and it kept crashing my Axim. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it continued. I sent an email to Omega One and Alexa emailed me back with no response other than she was sorry and to go back to the vendor who sold me the product (Handango) for a return!

I guess they know their product has some serious issues!

A group of us with Axims have purchased JB, and while we all had similar problems early, we continued to provide details to Omega, who responded almost instantly to the issues, and within days had a patch available (including weather in the USVI for one of us!). I'm thinking that sort of support is just what I'm looking for.

The issues with weather updates could easily be the site supplying your particular weather data...I'm not sure how JB gets its information, but frequently lack of updates can be traced downstream.

The constantly-flashing icon was one issue, which has been repaired, and (unfortunately) the see-through scroll of JB is another. This was a random problem of seeing another app through the JB area when you had it set to auto-scroll. Omega's solution to that one is to remove auto-scroll as an option.

JB is a handy little evolving product, and like Program Bar is welcome on my Today screen. If Omega continues to support their products as they are, I'm pleased to be a customer.

PS Quinn - from Orlando, the weather is pretty similar..except all the rain! ;)

You should remove the old before reinstalling the new version. When you uninstall a prompt will ask you if you want to keep your settings, just say yes and when you reinstall your old settings will be there.

I rolled the date back a couple of weeks to get 1.2 working. I still had some problems when I uninstalled and reinstalled. Weather would not come up on 3 reinstalls - stocks updated once. I found I had to dock in the cradle before the weather section added to the bar. So far it does update and even when shut off and then turned back on, I can hit the section icon and then it retrieves data. So far so good. Just hope it continues to work.

one question, i'm using 1.1 now (i see 1.2 is out but i'm at work so have to wait till i get home to install).. anyway everytime I go to a news article, it opens up PIE but then opens up a connection screen asking me for info to connect. of course I dont want to do this since it's already cached the page but how do i disable this so i don't have to close down the connection screen every time i click on a news heading?
