aja8888,
as with any large company, quality issues with departments will come up, and we are working to improve those issues with that support center. If Michael Dell didn't care, then those quality issues wouldn't be addressed. And I can assure you they HAVE been. I'm sure the user who works for a certain oil field services company can tell you, change doesn't happen overnight, but it does happen. And I've even worked for small companies who were so politically entrenched in their mindset that change didn't happen right away. Yes, Michael Dell does care. Issues that are reported to us, do get logged, and those logs are tracked. I've worked at Dell for almost 5 years, I know that support and service issues are tracked and scrutinized to death. and that's a good thing.

Problems in end-user support departments can happen in ANY hardware supplier's shop.

That said, I used to be a brand prostitute - buying whatever was cheap, since I or my husband could fix it ourselves if anything went wrong. Now, I wouldn't buy anything but a Dell. I practically have an IV hookup to my Inspiron 3800, and now when I don't have my Inspiron with me, there's my trusty little Axim.

In my opinion, Dell is one of the best brands of computer on the market. They have my undying loyalty.
