Buy in UK or US?

Having decided to buy an Axim 400, as I am based in England I am wondering whether I am better off buying in the US - either via the internet or across the counter, as I am visiting the US a week from now.
I guess the specs are identical whichever, but are there any issues to consider (voltage, mains plugs, warranty, etc) to bear in mind. I take it for granted the price will be cheaper for me in the US - so is there any reason to buy in the UK?

Aren't Dell the same in the US as in... you can't buy it 'over the counter' and have to order it and have it shipped? From what I've read on this site, they have delays there as we have here. As well as that you will still need an AC adapter from the UK re: voltage difference.

If I were you I'd order it now... then go and enjoy yourself in the US whether it be business or pleasure!

:)

Thanks, Cesio

Depressing - Dell's US' website doesn't want to sell to me because I have a delivery address outside the US. Cost of Axim 400 plus 256 Mb SD from Dell.com = $374.4. The same from Dell.co.uk = £367.17 (except they don't offer 256 Mb, only up to 128Mb). So, in dollars, the buy in England price is $568.85 for half the SD memory. God bless America!

You don’t need a voltage adapter, the Dell power supply accepts 100-240V at 50-60Hz. All you need is a new power cable from somewhere like Maplins.
I bought my Axim in Canada and use it in the UK and anywhere else I go. Also I travel with a USB charge cable which uses the power from a computer’s USB port.

you can have it delivered to an address in the US. If you have a friend or work address that you can have the thing shipped to in the US and then pick it up when you go that should work. that's what i did with mine. i ordered it using my own CC details and had it sent to a friend who then brought it over to me. it sure is cheaper to get it in the US,
