Is there a better deal on a 512 MB Compact Flash card than this?

Is there a better deal on a 512 MB Compact Flash card than this? I just ordered my X5 400 MHz last night and want to buy and expansion card for it.

Not that I could find. I just placed my order at Amazon today for the Viking 512MB CF card and the Viking 256MB SD card. Oh yeah, I ordered a 6-in-1 card reader/writer as well.

well if you do not want to deal with REBATES i got mine at bananapc.com for around 115 shipped when they had free shipping, and they have cheap SD cards too. i got a toshiba 128mb SD card for cheap i think 35 bucks, and the 512CF card is a samsung brand. had both 2 weeks and no complaints and they shipped fast too!

Dennis, (or anyone else for that matter) what is this 6-in-1 card reader/writer you were talking about and what does it do. I am not familiar with them and was just curious.

A card reader allows you to access the card directly from the PC as if it was a drive. It shows up in explorer and can be written to like a drive ... perhaps faster than through Active Sync.
6 in 1 can accept all types of cards.

Can someone post a picture of one of these? Is it portable or is it a seperate piece that sits on your desk or what? How much do these cost? I just am having trouble picturing it and its purpose.

I just got a 6 in 1 card reader. I love it! So far I have only used it to get pics off my memory stick, but it is so easy to use :)

Dell's Small Business Section is giving 15% off of memory right now and free shipping over $50. They have a Scandish 512mb CF card for $109.13 shipped free. They will charge tax being the business section but there are no rebates to deal with. The link is below

Beware! I ordered the 512mb Sandisk Ultra CF from Dell a couple of weeks ago. I got an email last week saying it was backordered and would be at least a couple more weeks before it shipped.

The Soyo KT-333 Dragon Ultra motherboards come with a "BayONE" CF/SD card reader unit that fits in a 3.5" drive bay. Very useful.

8 in 1 Card Readers

_____________
http://www.dazzle.com/products/8in1_gut.html

As digital technology continues to expand in today's market, there will be more and more devices utilizing digital media. Digital cameras, MP3 players, mobile phones, PDAs and more all use either CompactFlash Type I and II, IBM Microdrive, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, MagicGate Memory Stick, MultiMedia Card and Secure Digital. With the Hi-Speed USB Universal Dazzle 8 in 1 Reader, you can read them all.
--------(there is also a PCIMA version)

This is the 8-in1 card reader I got...I have smart media in my digital voice recorder CFII in my digital camera (and assume I will use in my Axim) a Sony Digital camcorder that uses the sony stick...so after a while I had some many things going into my computer and needed to have access on PC, laptop and home PC that this seemed to be the best solution. Pretty cheap cost, the software doesn't suck (Isn't the greatest but not the worst either) and it reads just about anything I can stick in it.

This beats even Buy.com's price, and Amazon offers free shipping. I had just ordered a Lexar 256MB SD and a SimpleTech 512MB CF from Buy.com, but I went back and canceled that order (I think I caught it in time) and ordered the Lexar SD and the Viking CF from Amazon instead. The prices were roughly equivalent, and with the savings on shipping, I was able to squeeze in a 6-in-1 reader also. Thanks for the tip! :)

I paid $103 with no rebates from Dell. I did have tax, that brought it up to $109.
