Synching Error
has anyone had problems with the connection mgr while synching? Last night my calander wouldn't synch, and i got a "cannot start connmgr.exe" error message. Everything else synched ok.
I have added some skyscape software recently. Is there any known conflicts with skyscape?

TIA

I've run into the same problem (installing new software and activesync goes on the pooper). Sometimes when I uninstall and reinstall active-sync, it works again. It could also be a problem in outlook. Try resetting your original outlook settings. That's what the Dell Tech instructed me to do and it also works sometimes. Also, I think a lot of people have had syncing problems on this site for many different reasons. Do a search in the forums and I'm sure you'll find a solution to your problem. Good Luck and welcome to aximsite!

Indeed. Apparently we are stuck with ActiveSync, an appalling rogram chock full of bugs, intolerant of other programs, oblivious to directory structure, and slow and stupid to boot. There's no "fix," there's no way to get it right, it is just sorry software and that's it.

I've got cash money for the first clever coder who hacks an activestink alternative.

If you have Windows 98/Me/XP try this.

Start > Run > type "msconfig" and press enter or click OK.

The system configuration utility will pop up. Put the radial dot next to Selective Startup and from the following check boxes clear the one that has to do with Startup Items or Startup Group. Click OK and restart the computer. Try syncing after that.

A lot of times it will just be a conflicting program that is in memory that will give you problems. You can also try a soft reset, uninstal/reinstall Activesync 3.7.1, hard reset, or as a final resort reinstall the operating system.

I couldn't agree more! The only real problems I've had with my axim have been syncing problems (problems I never really had with my palm). Overall, I am satisfied with the ppc platform, but Microsoft (being the largest and supposedly best software monopoly in history) should really get its head out of its $%@. I haven't run into a problem that I haven't been able to fix. In this day and age, however, I think customers expect a product to be error-free, something which I don't think is necessarily unreasonable.
