Is the Symbol CF Wifi Card REALLY the same thing as the Socket Low Power card??
I've seen the $25.00 Symbol CF wifi card on ebay and I have read a number of posts on this site. BUT...I am unclear about something:

Is this card REALLY the identical card to the Socket low power card? I have read that the Symbol company and the Socket company are the same and they have identical "other" devices that each sells under it's brand name, but does anyone know if this is actually the identical card? Or, is it a similar (albeit more limited) version made by the same company? Why is the Symbol not as widely distributed? (It seems to be sold on ebay and CDW, but not many other places?)

Just trying to get to the bottom of this issue.

Thanks.

Symbol and Socket are two separate companies, but worked together to make WiFi cards for PDAs.
Here's a couple of links to articles about the joint venture.

deft-

Thanks for the articles. They do explain the relationship between the two separate companies and their joint-project. However, I'm still unclear as to whether the CF cards are the same, aside from name and label.

Any thoughts?
