Case with flip top action.

On Aximsite's front page there is an advertisement for a flip cover for the Axim.
I noticed that it hinges from the top like right where our CF card slot is. I was wondering if they did something different for the axim that will allow you to use the cf, and this flip cover, like does it attach from the bottom or something?

So if anyone has ordered one, can you give a brief description of how this cowboy works, and if you like it or not.

Thanks,

Also, we may need to implement a search function on the message board, because this may have been answerd already, I just can't find it.

You mean the Pocket Solutions Coverup, right? I was checking out their Web site. It's a dual-metal hinge with velcro on the back. You stick the velcro to the back of the unit, then the hinge comes down over the CF slot. So, if you have a wifi card or something else protruding from the CF slot, you just pull off the Coverup and put it back on when you're done.

Does anyone own one of these? I'm curious as to how well it protects the application buttons from being pushed when pressure is applied to the cover.

Thats for a Clie, it doesn't apply to the Axim.

Just from looking at the website for the cover the CF slot will definitely be covered while the cover is over the screen.

These guys will be releasing a metal cover soon

http://www.innopocket.com/EShop/Main/index.php

They have some sweet covers for the IPAQ and according to their sales person, they will have an Axim version out soon. Best feature with these INHO is that they can pop right out of the case but you will still have that thin protection that will allow it to fit right in your pocket without bulk.

Yeah, the BargainPDA review is for the Clie, but the cover isn't much different from what you'll get for the Axim. The only changes would be in the shape, colour (to match the Axim), and that there's no hole for the DPad to pop up through.

Thanks for the other links, guys. I was wondering when Covertec would release a case, and the InnoPocket Metal Deluxe case is interesting. Hinging to the right, it won't block any slots. But d'you think it might make it difficult to hold the Axim?

Well, the reason I want the flip cover is because I would like to have as thin as possible Axim in my pocket. The case that came with the Axim is too bulky. It looks funny sitting in my front pocket. The leather dell zip case is good when I am taking my wifi card with me.
But for just a night out on the town with the ol'lady, I like to keep it with me for my contacts (never know when you need to add one), and keeping movie times with me, latest sync with avantgo does a good job keeping my local movie times for 3 surrounding theaters.
So I was thinking with just that cover up case, this would be perfect. If it doesn't make the axim much more thick than it is... That would be a good thing. I also like the protection that a little hard case cover will provide.

So I have decided to go ahead a buy one, if I don't like it, I am out 30 bucks. So when I get it I will submit some review notes to the Admin so he can write up an official review to post up on the site for others to read and make their own conclusions to see if that is the case for them.

I liked the Palm M series Idea of offering a flip cover with the unit. I think it serves it's purpose.
