E-Books on my Ax

Dell sent me a tracking number and I will be receiving my unit on Monday!

I was able to download over 70 E-Books on Kazaa yesterday and I am planning on reading a few of them on a trip I'm going on next week.

Does Pocket PC support the E-Book format (.lit), or do I need to download some aftermarket software to view these files? If so, could you please recommend a Freeware ap?

Thanks!
-Ender

I believe the axim comes with MS Reader preinstalled. I have had little luck finding .lit ebooks (lots of doc, txt, phd) or apps using winmx. Any ideas on looking for stuff?

I did a search on Kazaa. Keep in mind, some books you download on these peer-to-peer exchanges are illegal. It's in a sense, software piracy. Some people can live with it and some cannot... you decide.

Ender78, how are you searching for these ebooks on kazaa? What serach criteria do you use to find them? Anyone have any suggestions on how to set up a search for pocket movies?

MSReader was on the companion CD for the Axim when I got it. Under the MSReader activation was another link for MS's website for e-books. There were 1504 listed under Free!

"Ender78, how are you searching for these ebooks on kazaa?"

Try: ebook

Your search results will vary depending on who is online at the time and what they are sharing. You will notice that on peer-to-peer searches your results from the same search field will be different from day-to-day

You can also go to www.mslit.com to purchase books. Which would be a good thing if you either like the book or your conscience is bothering you.

Many (at least 50 if I remember correctly) classics are on the installation CD for Microsoft Reader if you like that kind of reading. Just a thought...

I'm not sure about the file extensions, I just happened to download a bundle that had the .lit extension instead of .pdf

Do you look under the "documents" section or what?

Ebooks can come in different flavor. .LIT is the format that MS Reader will look for. .PDF, although the general extension for adobe acrobat files, is also the extension that they use on their ebooks. You need a special Acrobat ebook reader (free) to access the PDF ebooks because they have much greater security than the standard .PDF files that you can look at with Acrobat Reader.

"Do you look under the 'documents' section or what?"

No, just from the main search field.
