Question Sync on boot/reboot and continues to sync, but wont connect again if removed

Hello everyone!

Nice site you have here! I stumbled upon this place in a Google search after Dell proved to be of NO help for me! Now I turn to you, my fellow Axim owners, for some help!...

Here is the skinny... I have an Axim X5 with PPC2002 connected via the Dell dock to an IBM ThinkCentre here at work. I have used both ActiveSync 3.5 and 3.7.1 (which is currently installed). I don't think this is the normal problem that everyone else seems to be experiencing (where synchronization is dropped during a sync). Off of a fresh boot or a reboot my Axim will connect and sync like a champ and it will continue to sync continuously as I update things throughout the day. The problem comes when I remove the Axim from the cradle to go to a meeting or something... When I come back and place it in the cradle it wont even connect to the PC. I can even run the "Get Connected..." wizard and it says my USB is available, but it never finds my Axim. If I reboot, the PC finds it and syncs and all is well with the world! Now, there HAS to be something I can do so I don't have to reboot every time I come back from a meeting! Any ideas?

I have tried the following and combinations thereof...
1) Uninstalling all the USB devices
2) Both versions of ActiveSync, 3.5 and 3.7.1
3) Soft and hard reset

I'm at the end of my rope here... ANY IDEAS ARE APPRECIATED!!!

Thanks!
Michael
