axim falls 15 ft! AND LIVES!

thats right, thanks to the rhino skin cheapo ALLUMINUM case. the stylus was shoved until its hole and the plastic on that right hand corner was scraped up but its worked perfectly for the last 3 weeks since the fall of the top of a ladder (dont ask) .. so i defintely cant recommend their cases enough.

i consider myself lucky though because im sure that the cheaper rhinoskin case was not meant to save a pda falling from that heighth.

thank god i had my cf wifi card taken out.

that reminds me since this my first time posting, ive had several cf and sd memory cards in the x5, all branded simpletech, and not a single one has given me a problem in over a year. just food for thought.

Glad nothing happened to your baby.

Most of us here have a drop story - now your one of dudes. And your Axim is not a virgin anymore.

I dropped mine a couple of weeks ago from about 5 feet onto our tile floor, without being in the case. It landed on the right bottom corner and scratched a little paint off, but thats about it.
Of course my heart stopped as I reached down to pick it up because I knew it had to have broken something.

Even though the Axim looks fragile, it's advantage (other than price) over top-line Ipaq's is that, though it looks fragile, it's pretty tough.

I almost dropped mine on the pavement the other day... it's head phone wire saved it (lucky me and my OGG addiction).

It gave me a rush I'll remember 'till forever, but other than that it was fine... point being that that was one drop it would not survive, I think. But still pretty darn tough...

seriously.... it's like time slows down while your Axim flies through the air... or falls, as the case may be...

the other day i was getting out of my car and i grabbed my coat off the passenger seat (darn cold weather) and forgot that my ax was in it, it definitely hit the asphalt, and of course landed on the one corner not completely protected by the case; but it's ok... just some paint gone. now it has more character!

it's a palm, clonebot...
a PALM.
They were DESIGNED to ba carried around by a bunch of you casual users and dropped randomly...
You could drop it off a 2-story building and (as long as the screen's held tight by something) it would survive.

'sides, who'd care if a palm broke...
Palm are so dman rich they'd replace it free if you threw it at ther CEO's head and it broke.

'nuff said...

Yes, The rhinoSkin Aluminum case helped save my lil buddy get through jump school. Both the Axim and the case are tuff stuff.

Since then I have upgraded my buddies armour to Titanium since he has to survive things more serious and dangerous than jump school.... KIDS!!!!!!

As for the palm I have, I already have a grave site picked out for it, He wont last the year :(

dropped mine on the kitchen floor the other day. It landed on one edge, knocked the SD card out of the slot (it slid under a door and down a stair, had to find it). The card went right back in, the Ax worked fine. SOOOO lucky!

Yeah, I don't know what I would do without the entertainment factor in the stall here at work.
