Activesync after hard reset?

My Axim's battery (and backup battery) went dead when the Axim wasn't used for a couple of weeks. I hadn't made a backup prior to this, but I had synched right before. What do I need to do to re-synch the Axim and restore my data from the PC? When I try to synch the PC thinks it's a new PDA. thanks!

After a hard reset, it is a new PDA. All the information originally on the Axim is gone. If you want to use the same PPC name as you had before (which, by default was Pocket_PC), simply open ActiveSync on the PC without the Axim connected, select File, Delete partnership. Then attach your Axim via the USB port and establish a new 'standard partnership. You will be given the opportunity to select the data you want to sync (contacts, calendar, email, etc). Place checkmarks where appropriate and your data should be restored on the Axim. You'll need to reinstall programs (through Tools, Add/remove programs and checking the boxes. You'll probably need to do these one at a time).
