Problem with Infrared

My x5 don't want to connect via IR. The icon appears on the pc, but it doesn't sync. I changed setting on activesync, and ticked "receive all beams" on device, but it doesn't work.

Help

I couldn't get Activesync to connect after I formatted my HD and reinstalled everything. It was working before I did that. All I did to get it to work was to open Activesinc and go to File->Get Connected. It found it itself and has worked since.

Hope that helps.

Try this:

1.) On the desktop ActiveSync connection settings, check "Allow serial cable or infrared connection to this COM port". Change the dropdown list to Infrared Port (IR).

2.) Point the IR transmitter/receivers at each other and wait for your desktop to detect the PPC.

3.) On the PPC ActiveSync, tap the Tools menu and select Connect via IR...

This works for my laptop running XP Pro with ActiveSync 3.7.1.
