When, oh When can we have the StowAway?!?

I'm DYYYYYYYYING over here. I LOVE the Targus StowAway keyboard, and afer ready MANY reviews on the Pocketop, I'm DEFINATELY staying away from it, (see http://www.compu2go.com/pocketopkeyboard.html).

So, does ANYBODY know when I can get my hands on a StowAway Keyboard that is designed explicitely for the Dell Axim? I'm not interested in a soldered work-around as has been discussed on this board.

I don't have bluetooth either, though I am open to suggestions, but only those that can compare with the StowAway, being that in my opinion, it is in a league of it's own. (I used a StowAway Keyboard for two different iPAQ's), hense, my love for it.

Can anyone help?

I sent an email to Targus sales the other day asking if they were making a Stowaway keyboard for the Axim. (I have the Dell foldout keyboard, and it's nice, just a little....small).

I got a canned response saying they weren't making one but that they consider requests for new products. Maybe if there is enough interest they'll produce one.

But really I can't imagine why there's even any question about this. Dell is going to sell tons of Axims. There's a huge market for a quality "full" sized keyboard. What's the holdup??

People have different opinions, but I used a Stowaway with my Jornada 548, and I like the Dell folding keyboard better. I think it's more solid, closes more securely, and just seems less kludgy.

YMMV, of course.

Here's what I got from Thinkoutside today 8/6/04:

"We apologize for the delay.

We are having a problem in manufacturing with the packaging, this issue
is currently being worked on. However, we have not been given a new ship
date. I hope to have a new ship date very soon. We will post a
notification to our website when we begin shipping this keyboard. I am
told from our manufacturing manger this will be resolved next week.

We are doing our best to get this product shipped and trying to ensure
there are no further issues once you finally receive your order.

Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused."
