Sound lost using the PDA as a recorder

Hi,
Im using my Axim x5 for interviews (which works quite good actually) but Im running into a problem from time to time. During some of the recordings the sound is lost, hence destroying the interview. Any solutions?

Im using Sound explorer and a CF card on 512 mb to gather and store the interview. My battery time is quite bad, according to battery bar a little bit above 2h, I suspect this might be the problem.

Anybody that has a solution? (I dont want to buy a new battery before checking other solutions)
