Question New Axim user with a recipe program question . . .

I was planning to use a program called Cook'n Deluxe for my Palm Vx, but my husband just got me an Axim for my birthday. So is there a good recipe organization program for the PPC that works well in windows and on the PPC?

I have only done a little research so far, but I am so excited to have a color screen! I know it is going to be a big difference, but does anybody have good advice for me about switching from the Palm Vx to the Axim? I feel like I am switching from a PC to a Mac!

Thanks, I have learned so much here already!

I found this by using google. The site is a little strange, I couldn't get it to work properly for me, but it's a start.

I also found this. At least this one the site works!

Uh oh, it feels like you're switching from a PC to a *MAC*?! :crooked: :D ;)

You can also give Pocket Cook a try

Cheers.

Big Smile Actually . . .

Switching to a Mac would be a good thing for us, because of the video editing capabilities and DVD writing! So I really meant it in a good way :p !

80-100GB Hard Drive - $100
FireWire Card - $30
512MB RAM - $100
DVD Burner - $300
TMPGEnc - Free
VirtualDub - Free
DiVX - Free
Windows Movie Maker 2 - Free

... you'd be hard pressed to find a decent Mac anywhere near the cost for making your PC video-ready!!

Don't get me wrong, I dig Macs (still got my old 6100/60AV around here somewhere *cough*). They're slick, very pretty, virtually virus-proof (no one cares seriously enough to write a nasty for only ~4% of home computers), and their i* series of programs are some of the best computer programs ever. But... it's just not worth it, IMHO. My GF at school loves her Macs - coz she didn't have to pay for 'em!

True, true . . .

The worst part is that we already have all the software for the Mac, (and I love iMovie, iCal, iDVD) we also have Final Cut! Our current mac (an overclocked G3) just doesn't have the oomph. Really, there ought to be better video editing software for the PC! Pinnacle just doesn't do it for me, compared to Final Cut and all its glory!

Oh well, maybe when I win the lottery, or at least win a Mac? Please?

~Can't wait to use my Axim though, maybe it will ease my pain for a little while!~

Mad Pocket-Cook recipe manager

I have found a great? recipe manager product for Pocket PC called Pocket Cook Deluxe (www.pocket-cook.com).
Unfortunately it will not work on my Dell - a problem with the associated pvbload.exe file. I have tried the support forum for Pocket-Cook, they say they have had problems before with Axims.
Has anybody been successful in installing this app?
