A few months ago I lost my original stylus and replaced it with a set of 3 of these 2-in-1 replacements w/pen. They worked OK for a while, but now one of them has gotten stuck in my Axim. The caps on these things just snap on rather than screwing on, and I guess that it's gotten loose over time. I went to pull the stylus out and only got the pen cap tip. The stylus is stuck all the way down in there, and I can't shake it out or get it out with tweezers.
The only thing I can think of doing now is to use a coffee stirrer straw and a dab of super glue to grab the pen tip and pull it out once the superglue dries. Of course, I really don't want to be sticking superglue in an expensive electronic device.
I used the tweezers that came in my Victorinox Swiss Army knife, but they can't grip well enough to pull it out. The stylus slot is so small that needlenose pliers will not fit.
I guess you might have to go and buy a new pair of tweezers to put in your repair kit.
If you dont want to buy tweezers though you can try going to Target or walmart and go down the make up sections where they keep the tweezers and see if they have any that are out or are in those reclosable packages. Take your Ax with ya and do an on the spot extraction.
(1) Get a BIC pen
(2) Remove the ink cartridge (you know the clear/white tube)
(3) stick the open end of the ink cartridge over the pen point of the stuck stylus. . . maybe there will be enough friction to allow it to grab and you can ease it out using the ink cartridge.
Mine did the same thing....I took the eraser end of a pencil and GENTLY pushed it over the pen point then extracted the stylus. You might have to use your needle nose and bend the little brass eraser holder into a small enough shape to fit in the hole if you use a standard #2 pencil. Then I threw away the pen stylus, ashame too because its such a neat idea, and went back to the old reliable OEM stylus. I didn't try it becuase the eraser worked, but i was about to use a hot glue gun glue stick (not heated of course) to attempt the same kind of "capture". Good luck and let us know how you finally got yours out.
Again, I don't know if this'll work because I got it out before attempting desperate measures, but I though if you took a thin rubber band and made a loop that would slip at the end, and then get it looped over the pen and snag it up tight you might be able to get it pulled up high enough before it slipped off to get a pair of tweezers or something on it. Sorry, I'm really running out of ideas that are even sounding credible at this point.
