What exactly is the problem with the D-Pad Patch?

My Axim 400 MHz is supposed to arrive tomorrow and one of the first things I want to do is check the D-pad and fix it if necessary. I have read some places that the problem is pushing the pad right and that the patch fixes that. The other thing I have read is that the only problem is with the enter button in the middle of the pad and that the patch fixes that.

What EXACTLY is the problem with the D-pad? Is it one of these issues is it or both or even something else all together? If it is both of these issues, does this one patch fix BOTH problems or is there one for each? Can anyone provide a link to download this patch or patches if there is one for each problem? What are the instructions for installing it?

THANKS!!

the dpad patch fixes the pad so when you push the middle it acts as enter. My dpad used to stick to the right, but now it doesn't, so i think the patch solves that problem too.

Dell must have employees that continually set up and disable links to the D-Pad fix. This one doesn't work either.

It's what they have all those pesky interns for. Look for the commercial where they show them putting up bogus links...

Well it had to be someone... :D

The best bet to look for software is just to go through the http://support.dell.com/ site. These patches can change daily...

This patch does not work on my dell.

It says that to verify program was installed correctly,
it should be listed in the add/remove program menu.
It is not listed there for me.

I clicked on the file r55834, then it installs some
files onto my c: drive, then supposedly installs on Axim.
File STILL not listed.

Any suggestions??
