Strange Occurrence

Last night I had the strangest thing happen to my Axim X5. I suddenly lost everything from my "Start" menu. In addition to that, the short cut to Intenet Explorer and Mail completely disappearred from both the "Start" menu and the programs group.

I hunted down the actual programs and created new shortcuts but then decided to just do a restore from my SD card with Sprite Backup. I am back to normal but would like to know what happened.

Any ideas?
