Question Will you (or have you) upgrade to WM2003?

I'm still debating this, and I've seen a lot of people saying they are not going to move to WM2003, if there's a particular reason you're not (hardware/software) post it here.

I answered that I probably won't. There have been too many other X5 users who had grief from the upgrade, and I need to be sure all my favorite apps and hardware won't become useless. PPC2002 does what I need it to do, so I currently have no interest in pursuing WM2003.

Same here - 2002 is great and I don`t want to screw anything up.

Yeah......what they said!

The only way I'll move to WM2003, is if WM200X comes out and you need WM2003 to upgrade to it.

That is providing, of course, that WM200X is proven to be stable, grandfathering in PPC2002 Applications, and includes enough REAL Upgrade/Enhancements to actually make it worthwhile to do so.

Having said that, any such upgrade will probably leave the X5's Processor sorely lacking!

So, I guess what I'm really saying is......Uh-Uh, nope, no-way, nada, zip, zero%.........and the ever popular:
Not a Snowball's Chance in Hell!!!

(But I am keeping an open mind about it!):hide:

I have tried WM2003, then reverted back to 2002. My answer was yes probably will, but only when all apps I use are working with 2003. When I upgraded, I actually had no problems with it, and liked it except for the compatibility issue with most programs out there.

I like WM2003. The upgrade went easily for me, it is very stable, my programs seem to run faster, and connections are much more easily managed. Oh, and PIE is vastly better. I'm quite satisfied with the upgrade.

I also moved up to Wm2003 with no problems what so ever, and with no problems with activesync.

That is unlikely as it would leave a *whole* lot of PPCs in the cold. The HP 2210, 4155, 5455, 5555, etc...

Unless someone asks a specific question, like you did, people who upgraded to WM2003 without problems probably would not start a post proclaiming "No problems!" That's why you saw mostly negative posts.

I also have no problem with the upgrade. I agree with previous posters, I find WM2003 more stable and there is a sigificant speed improvement.

I upgraded in October, and find WM2003 far better than PPC2002 - especially if you use wireless networking. Also, FWIW, I had ActiveSync problems with 2002 at times; never with 2003.

I upgraded successfully-but not without a glitch in the installer. After the backup step, the installer wouldn't launch the next dialog that begins the update process. I fussed with it a bit by cancelling the install then restarting it by clicking the setup.exe from explorer several times. Finally, the update process started.
