Battery Replacement - when?
Have people had to replace their rechargeable batteries yet? I have had my Axim for a little over a year and wondered what people's experience had been.

Thanks.

Battery
I replaced my Back up battery when it was a year old. My main battery is still going strong and lasts as long as it did when I first got the AX. I consider myself to be heavy user becasue I use it all day long for the general business stuff and usually read from it a couple of hours a night. Unless something screwy happens I expect it to last as long as my AX

I gots no worries!

Through various purchases of "dead Axims for parts", I now have 2 working Axims, 1 w/Mugen3800, 1 w/standard 1400 (Dedicated pdaWIN Remote), 2 other Axims in various states of decomposition, 2 1400 Batteries on constant charge (1 in each spare cradle slot) and 1 in 30% Dormant Cool Storage!

For some reason, some people have had to replace backup batteries frequently. However, most seem to be going nearly a year on one battery, or even beyond.

I am looking for input on the rechargeable main battery - not the backup battery. I wonder how long before the main one needs replacing. Mine seems to be getting used up faster than before. Is there any way to test remaining vibrancy of the battery?

Under optimum conditions, a Li-ion battery will last about 3 years from the time it receives it’s first charge. The lifespan is shortened every time it is discharged/recharged and the deeper the discharge, the shorter the usable life – typically going down to 2 or 3 hundred deep discharges (while you can get a few thousand shallow discharge cycles).

I just run Media Player on my Axim with the light at a particular level to test the battery (which I rarely do since the test involves running it down which effects the lifespan).
