Connecting to the internet directly using cable modem and cf card problem

Hi, I think I must have tried just about everything there is to try to be able to connect my pocket pc to the internet using my cable modem and a CF ethernet card. A connection seems to happen...in other words the two little arrows appear without an "x" but I can't seem to browse the internet.

I got the 2003 OS on my pocket pc, updated the drivers for my cf card, called my isp(They dont offer any support for ppc's) but atleast I got some info out of them. Spoke to someone that told me that the ip address that's automaticly assigned to my pocket pc isn't the correct one. She said that it might be a problem with the cf card or the dell.

I got my settings set to "Use server-assigned IP address" which is how it usually works with cable. I have no problems connecting to the internet at work threw our network. But from home...its just not working.

Anyone got any suggestions? pls...
