Which OS R U Running?
Are you running PC2002 or WM2003?
Which drivers have you loaded?
If you search AximSite you will find several threads which address your problem...it helped me to resolve my problems with the CF card after upgrading to WM2003 ---

you have to download the updated driver
Follow this link to the updated driver. It has instructions for what to do. I had the same problem and their customers support was not helpful at all. Click on release notes for installation instructions and click on download to download the driver.

remove the card.
Remove all drivers.
soft reset it.
Load the newest driver from Linksys.
Remove you Ax from cradle.
Soft reset it.
Put card in.
Try this.

email or call linksys, get an RMA # and have them replace it. It sounds like you got the friday closing time unit.
Linksys has a path on their website to do the whole thing and it gives you a week or so to return the old one before they bill your credit card. pretty easy.

Linksys WCF12
Make sure you do not load the Linksys utility. It won't work with PPC2003.

Weird - I loaded the linksys driver when I received my Axim 5 a couple of days ago - it's working, although it took me a couple of times to make that unrecognized card in slot message go away.
I'm assuming that before you tried to reinstall, you went on the Axim when it was not synced and removed the WCF12 drivers before reinstalling.

well, after 2 days messing around, and about 300 hard re-sets, i eventually got the WCF12 connected, it only conn for a few seconds, not sure why.
i think the story here is, anyone who buys this particular wi-fi card, DO NOT INSTALL THE DRIVER FROM THE CD because the updated driver wont work if you do load it on.
the signal strenth showing on mine is non existant, i think this may be why i cant keep it connected, unless anyone can offer any suggestion...i may still return this wi fi card, not very impressed with it at all.! !
