Screen Size While Browsing Internet on Axim

Hi,

Maybe there is another thread on this (my search skills probably suck), but is there a way to get more information on the Axim X5 screen while browsing the internet? Right now, much scrolling is necessary, as it appears it loads full-size screen (except Google automatically comes up PDA size).

File - Fit to screen will stop you from having to scroll horizontally, but as for more info on the screen, you'd have to look at resolution changing software for that.

Have the text fit to the screen and maybe changing text size to smaller might help but it makes the text almost unreadable.

try netfront

I've found that the netfront browser is really good at handling most sites. Switch on the smartfit option and I am really impressed. It does a great job of making every website I've been to readable on my Axim.

(apologies if that sounds like a sales pitch, but after getting really frustrated with pocket ie, netfront is just really impressive)

Is there a way to rotate the screen in pocket ie? The width of web pages seems to be the issue

there is software to rotate the screen in general, but there is no way to do it specifically in PIE.

JSLanscape and DotPocket both change the axim's display to landscape mode (for all apps).

ive actually found PIE amazingly good at resizing web pages. it is able to do so quickly and well (the pages themselves of course, take a bit longer to load than on a desktop).

Are you using PPC2002 or WM2003? PIE'02 is from the stone age compared to PIE'03. haven't used netfront but if it's that much better than PIE'03 then I am very impressed.

The upgrade from PPC2002 to WM2003 is worth it just for the new version of PIE and the "Pictures" picture viewer program, IMO.
