There are plenty of stories floating about regarding dropping Axims, but has anyone else ever just left their Ax sitting and only later remembered where it was? Well, I did. Here's what happened;
Lucky Stickman…..
I went to lunch yesterday and decided to bring my Axim with me. Got my food and sat down in the cafeteria of the market I was in. Spent a leisurely lunch glancing through some periodical, enjoying a favorite Belgian ale with my sandwich. After I had my fill, I cleaned up my mess and wandered off to the bathroom. After that, it was back to work for the afternoon. I got about a third of the way back when I realized I had left my Axim ON THE COUNTER OF THE CAFETERIA!!!! It was at least a 5 minute drive back, and had probably been close to 20 minutes since I had got up to go to the bathroom after lunch. &$@! I knew it was gone. I was already late for getting back to work. Double &$@!! I HAD to go back and check though. The whole way back, my stomach was sick with the thought of my loss, both financial and the amount of info on the little machine. The bellagio case, the 256mB CF card full of MP3s, the travel info for my upcoming conference, my calendar, my contacts…..uugh. I think I’m gonna lose that lunch.
I double parked in the crowded parking lot and ran straight into the cafeteria and asked around, no one had seen it. “Go check the lost and found” an employee told me.
Luckily, another employee had picked it up and placed it in a locked drawer in the lost and found counter.
I was kinda late getting back to work, but at least I didn’t lose my lunch, or my Axim!!
Anyone else have any amusing anecdotes to share?

I was out of town one weekend, and the hotel I was where I was staying had a sports grill downstairs. I went down to have dinner and had a glass of wine. I was heading back up to my room (on the tenth floor) when I realized that I left my purse (with my Axim in it), hanging on my chair in the bar. :crooked: I almost had a panic attack. LOL Luckily it was still hanging there when got back.

Before my Axim, I had a Palm Vx. I left it in the seat back of a flight from DFW to Washington DC.... It was turned in by the cleaning crew and American Airlines fedexed it to me, on their dime.
I left the Palm Vx sitting in a seat on a Flight from DFW to Orange County, CA once, but remembered before I left the gate area, and a flight attendant went back and got it for me.
Mine fell out of my case in Barnes & Noble bookstore. After a 50 mile drive home I missed it. I went back the next day and a customer had turned it in to their information desk. There are still honest people in this world.
I'd had my Axim for 1 week last April. I'd driven to North Cray in Kent and it was a beautiful day. I was 1 hour early for my meeting, so, thought I, I'll sit in the sun and read a book on my Axim. So I found a park bench by the river. But surprise, surprise the sun was just too bright, so I put the Axim on the bench beside me.
30 minutes later, I walked off and of course, not being used to carrying the Axim, I just left it. 10 minutes later I realised my mistake and sprinted back to the park bench. It had gone! I felt physically sick (remember I'd paid the UK price for this piece of technology!)
I hunted everywhere, but no luck. I'd alread decided I would just have to buy another. Just then my mobile phone rang and a woman said ' Is that ...? I've think I've got something of yours'
Her young daughter had picked up the Axim and she'd found a business card I'd put in the case. She came down to meet me and I gave her £10 and my heartfelt gratitude. The poor thing didn't realise what she'd got, and she certainly didn't realise what it meant to me
Not exactly the same but a chance to plug a deserving company.
I was in a wreck last November and ejected from the vehicle. I tumbled up the highway in front of traffic. I immediately jumped to my feet and ran to check the others in the wreck. Then I realized my Axim was no longer on my belt (no big surprise there) I ran back into the highway and found a big truck inching toward it. I grabbed it up from the road. The SENA case had protected my Axim perfectly. A week later the button fell off the back. I told Sena the whole story in an e-mail. SENA replied within 20 minutes and replaced the case free of charge with an even better case with a steel button on the back. I am still expressing my grattitude with well-earned free press whenever opportunity arises. Sorry for the commercial angle but they deserve it.:D

yeah, once during the summer i went to see some friends and since it was a long way to walk, i took my ax with to listen to mp3s...but with that friendswe later that evening went to a pub to celebrate their victory of a small football match which took place that afternoon and was organised by the owner of the pub..it was, of course, a big celebration...till early morning (i left the pub in not a clear state of mind at about 5.15 AM)... for the whole time i had the ax in my shirt's pocket...i headed with some other people towards my home, but quickly all of them but one turned somewhere to and i was walking with that one person (slightly crazy man) on...after few meters he suggested that we should run the way towards his home (about a mile away)...for a second i thought the idea was just a product of a mad brain but after that second i took it very seriously and wanted to be much faster than that man (not a thought about my axim)..so i ran and ran and ran pretty fast all the time to is house - there i stopped and waited quite a long time till he (slowly and comfortly) arrived...i told him a few words and suddenly i recalled! i touched my pocket and it was empty! so my mood changed immately and i asked him frightened if he'd seen a pocket pc lying on the road - he of course thought im at least mental defective to ask him such a question but i was already running back with my eyes clued on the road....after bout 20 meters i instinctively inserted my hand to the pocket of my jacket and - the axim was outside the pocket inside the jacket - it fell out the pocket of my shirt and fortunately hooked on the other side of the jacket pocket...u can realize what a stone fell of my heart...:o)......so the advice is - not to take the pocket pc to the pub wherere ure supposed to drink like a beast :o)
At least you didn't catch it with some other appendage!!
I'm not sure if I would have wanted to read about THAT story.
