Ekkkkkk.........my Axim X5 did a HARD RESET.

2-11-04

At 5AM this morning I went to write in my calendar to pick up coffee and my Axim did a HARD RESET. Fortunately I had synchronized on the 9th and only lost a little bit of information. Has anyone had that problem? I got rid of my Palm for the same reason but that was hardware related. I keep my Axim in a hard Rinoskin case and it is in a tiny purse I keep with me all the time. Did I do anything wrong to cause this, could it be a virus, do PDA’s get viruses; I have loaded a few shareware games weeks ago.

Can I get an antivirus program for my Axim?

Linda

Remember to sync as often as possible.

MCAfee do an antivirus program for the PDA, i think my WM2003 update disk came with a 1 month free trial. Also if you search Goolge with PDA antivirus i see F-Secure also do a PDA antivirus kit. Not sure if this is your problem thought.

This had happened to me a couple of time, but I accept full responsibility, each time I was fooling around with DLL's and other files I had no business messing with ;)

Mine did that once. Several other times, I pulled it out of my bag, and it was waiting for me to push whatever button you punch to go ahead with the hard reset, or to push the one for cancel. This stopped happening to me, after Dell replaced my main battery, which fit loosely enough to be somewhat easily disconnected (it would happen when I was using it, just from pressure from my palm, for example).
