Just got Axim, How do I get new Today screens?
Hello,
I just got my axim 400 yesterday, I love it. It is the perfect size for me and Is just what I expected. I downloaded 2 new screens off pdagold.com but they would not show up on the- all pictures list, when I browsed from the today screens page. I could see the files but my the axim couldn't see them as pictures/screens only as files called .TSK. If any one can help, that would be greatly appreciated, or even a different site for today screens.
Ben :) :D

I use a program called Theme Maker to change my today screens. There's a free version of this prog called Theme Maker Lite which allows you to basically build your own today screen by downloading pics from the net. You also change the color of the font and lines on the today screen, etc. If you don't want to make your own you can download any .tsk file and then place it in the mobile device folder (click explore in active sync, this will open automatically into this folder). There are lots of freeware sites out there that offer today screens, just perform a search in google. Hope this helps, have fun.

If you go to Start, Settings, Today, Appearance ... do you see the files listed as choices in the list? Those are your themes, at least the ones that are recognized by the system.
Do you have MS Theme Generator? It runs on your PC, and allows you to create themes, but I think it also installs some kind of theme manager on the Axim. This may make your downloads show up. My TSKs are all stored in the main My Doc folder.

the theme files (.tsk) have to be stored in your 'my documents' folder (not the one in built in storage, the folder under 'my device'. if you have them there they should show up in the today listing of themes.
here's a good site for themes:

Because I'm more of a splitter than a lumper, I created a Themes folder in My Documents. It saves digging through a bunch of miscellaneous stuff when I use Explorer. I also created folders for Music, Movies, Notes, etc. Maybe silly/unnecessary but you know how anal-retentive engineer types can be. Just need to be sure all these folders are in a My Documents folder, whether their in internal storage, or on a SD/CF card. -mm
