Those of you who got lucky, how did you do it??

I've read too many posts mentioning, "ordered Friday received Monday" or "placed order on 11th, shipped on 12th" or "received it two weeks earlier."

What are your secrets?

Do you order by telephone or internet? Did you get overnight shipping? Did you pay regular price? Are you executives of Dell? Are you employees of Dell? Do you live in Texas?

Why do some people have to wait over a month and others get theirs right away? Is it first come first served or is it random like a lottery? Man, I never win anything. :rolling:

I have no idea what the secret is. I ordered through the website, just like anyone would. I didn't order any extras that said they would require extra processing time, and I specified overnight shipping. I was fully prepared to wait a few weeks, so I was really surprised when it arrived in 3 days (two of which were weekend days, and one was a holiday (president's day).

As my dad would say, "I must be living right".

i ordered my ax 2-17 and with my luck...it wont get here until a few days AFTER the target day of mar. 5th...cant wait!!

It is interesting I ordered from DEll SB originally on Feb 9th and got a delivery date of Feb 27th. I canceled the order and order from Dell Home on Feb 12th and now I am getting it in the next couple of days latest Feb 23rd. I did have to talk to someone in Dell peripheral to straighten out my order. Hopefully you can put this to use.

I think all of us that got them this week all were part of a shipment of units all at once. They get them in batches and they are sent out to those who are back ordered. The next batch may not be due for a couple weeks.

I wasn't sure what to expect. I called late Saturday and had them confirm for me a couple of times that they had the thing in stock.

So, the order was made Saturday and I see it shipped yesterday (Tuesday) with an arrival date sometime between the 21st and 25th.

I guess you could put me in the "lucky" category.

I ordered off the site and the only extra I ordered was the Dell leather case. When I placed the order it said delivery of Feb 24. I had placed the order on the 14th(Friday). When I checked hte status on Saturday, it said In Transit and I received it on Monday. Must have been luck. Who am I to argue. :D

I ordered from the Dell Healthcare ( I work for a hospital) site on 2/6 and was given a ship date of 2/27. Apparently Dell doesn't put a lot of importance on thier business customers. Doesn't exactly make me interested in ordering from them again.

Today it says in Transit. Ordered 400 with extra sync cable, leather case, extra stylus.

I am sure its in Transit today so I don't get mad I paid $10 extra. The 10% off, even off accessories, doesn't make it less than getting the same things with the rebate, then again, I don't have to wait for the rebate.

Had 2 day shipping Fedex, maybe it will be here Friday?

A co-worker ordered his Axim (400mhz) last Tuesday (2/11) and received it yesterday (2/18). He chose the free shipping. The pkg. shipped on 2/14.

I ordered mine on 2/4 but cancelled last Wednesday (2/12) when Dell refused to credit me the 10% off that they were offering. The unit wasn't even in production, but they still refused to give me the discount. I then reordered via the Home Business site and saved $75 with the 10% off, free shipping and no sales tax. The $75 savings included upgrading my original order's spare battery to the larger 3400 mah battery! Dropping the standard spare battery also reduced the estimated ship date from 3/5 to 2/27.

I'm not going to hold my breath, but I really hope it ships by next Friday!

They definitely wanted to get it to me before this rebate thing made its presence known in my mind!

lucky you!!! thats not fair!!,,,i have to wait til next mth...and then the day after it comes cuz i will be at work when the mail comes,so all i get is a note saying "we have your toy...call us to come get it". gee....im sooooooo happy for you!

can you detect my jealousy???
