Screen Taps not Accurate*

Lately, my Axim has not been responding well to stylus taps. Whenever I tap the exit icon in the Top Right Hand Section the onscreen Keyboard is activated .

Cleaning the screen sometimes help but every day I have to do a screen alignment which is not cool. A soft and a hard reset did not work, but hitting the device sometimes work.

Well, I email Dell and they say They can't help as this device was not sold to me. Actually, I wired the money to someone in the US who bought it in her name Last January (2003)because Dell did'nt ship the Axim models to the Carribbean.

Am kinda lost now as I don't live in the US and I cannot find any company who services PDAs in my region - Carribbean .

A dealer for Dell Desktop in my country says if its the screen, it may cost more than the value of the PDA! Could that be true?


Any suggestions?
Could it be the screen ?
Could it be the Digitizer?
Can Hp parts work?

Its hard to imagine life without an Axim X5.

I've seen reports that if you have the screen protector sheets under the edge of the case it makes the screen act funny. You didn't mention if you used them. Just an idea.

No I don't use screen protectors

Try settings>system>screen>align screen?

go to the classified section to take a look at the prices. the digitiser is expensive...

I had the same problem and dell told me to send it back, received refurbished one worked since then

Try realigning the screen. If that doesn't work try a hard reset.
