Having trouble installing the D-pad patch

I have downloaded the patch Dell has for the enter problem with the d-pad named R55834.exe but I am having difficulty installing it. I have successfully transferred it to the Axim but when I click on it I get a message saying that it is not a valid Pocket PC application. What is wrong and how do I fix it? Do I need to have it sitting in a certain location when I open it or something? Once I get it to finally open will it ask me for where I want to install it at or will it do it automatically? I extracted the contents onto my computers hard drive and there are 3 files in there. A .cab file, an .ini file and an .exe file. Can I move those over and run them or something? I just need some help here.

Thanks

Just run the exe file on your desktop. That should take care of everything.

How in the world does a patch for my PPC need to be installed on my desktops C drive? How in the world does that install something on the Axim?

Most Axim programs have to be installed from the PC. Some of them like to install themselves to the PC first; all they're really doing is uncompressing into the specified folder.

It works this way so its easier to install stuff. When you run the setup.exe file, it will launch a program that will install on to your Pocket PC. The other way is to copy the CAB file over and run it from your PPC. Its just easier to use the setup.exe file on the desktop.
