I think it will be exactly the same model. I think they'd rename it if they made any major changes. It's possible that they've switched vendors for some of the parts or something like that.

Most likely, the delay was some kind of manufacturing issue, not a strategic ploy.

When the PXA255 CPU replaced the PXA250, there was no name change. Both models are called Axim X5.

However, production/sale was not halted for a simple CPU replacement.

I do think it's possible that they upgraded the memory. I mean, if they upgraded the memory and left everything else the same, would they really have a reason to call it the Axim X7? Again, though, I do not know if a memory upgrade would be sufficient to halt orders completely for 3+ months.
