Sena Case.....colors

I have decided on ordering the Sena case for my Axim, but I have a dilema. I can not decide on a color. I am leening toward black/blue or black/red (or maybe black only).

Anybody have an opinion on this.

I almost orderd the covertec case because I like how it leaves the Axim naked when you open the flap (why coverup such a beatiful machine) but then the sides become completly unprotected from things in your pocket that could scratch the finish or black plexy glass. I feel the sena case gives optimum protection when placed in your pocket.

Vaja cases are showing a sneek peek at a case for the dell on their website but the prices of their cases are too high.

The last recommendation I need is about the cradle. For those of you with eb slippers are you removing the dell to put in the cradle or have you just switched to the cable and put the cradle in a box?

I had the exact dilema as you when I ordered my Sena -- but alas, I have decided on solid black because:

1) Black seems to go with a wider variety style of wardrobes, casual or professional. I tried imagining wearing a suit and carrying a blue/black leather case... somehow it didn't really go well -- altho the two tone would look great with casual dress.

2) I have never owned a Sena, so I do not know their craftmanship. From previous experience with stitched leather, some poor manufacturing caused the threads to fray out after a long period of usage. I didn't want to risk it with the two-tone stitching -- more parts, more things to break ;)

3) A whole piece of leather is 'worth' more than smaller pieces stitched together ;)

Cheers.

I was also curious about the colors of the Sena cases so I sent them an email. Here's my note to them with their reply:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I'm going to pre-order one of the Sena Axim cases. I have a couple of questions about color.

The 'Black' case looks like it's solid black with no stitching on the cover (as in the Black/Black color choices on some of the other Sena Cases and in the Red/Black Axim Case). Am I correct . . . solid Black with no 'ornamental stitching?

How 'Red' is the 'Red' on the Black/Red Axim case? Is it really red or more of a darker or burgundy red? Is it a a guy color? The website picture makes it look like a dark red.

Same question with the Black/Blue Axim case? The website picture looks like a bright blue.

On an order placed today, what does the shipping time look like. Pretty soon after the 25th or do you have a large backlog to fill?

-----------------------------------------

Dear Mr. Williamson,

The cover of the black case is solid black with no stitching. The red is
definitely not burgundy red. It is not that dark but it is not vivid either.
Blue is not as vivid as it seems on the website. It is darker. There are many
guys buying either of them :) .

If you order now, it will be shipped on or around March 4th.

Regards,
Frank[I]

i ordered one of these cases too. but i'm wondering though, how do you guys plan on carrying it? i'm thinking it's too big and bulky to put in the back pocket and replace my wallet and it might be too bulky even for the front pockets.

I ordered mine with a belt-clip, so gonna carry it on my belt. On days when I wear pants with huge pockets, I'll prolly stick it in the front (problem with back pocket is poor posture, and will most likely break the Ax in some way).

I really wish tho that they could come up with a 'clip' that is more or less flush with the case (ie: perhaps switch the stud and the 'clipper' around, so one would wear the stud on the belt, and the flat clip on the case.)

Cheers.

yeah that's why I ordered the black one without the clip, as I wouldn't wear it on my belt much (specially with dress pants/shirt as I dont wanna show off a utility belt!)

also, considering that I ordered a month ago, I wonder if mine will ship on the 25th? I'm gettin anxious!

Also looking for a case...

Hey folks,
I'm a new Axim users and am starting to look for some sort of casing. Mostly I keep the thing inside my breast pocket in my overcoat. I'm just wondering if you have any other recommendations besides the ones mentioned. My primary focus is screen protection and size. I want something that will cover the Axim without adding much to its bulkiness, as it is pretty bulky already.
Any help would be appreciated.

I pre-ordered the blue and black case. Just like you, I wasn't sure if I wanted the color or the plain black case because they don't have a very good picture of the color cases for the axim on their website. The pictures they had looked like the color covered a lot of the case. I took a look at some of the cases designed for other pocket pcs and they looked like I had hoped, just a small trimming of color on the side. I'd say take a peek at some of the other cases, you get a better feel of what it will look like. Hope that made sense.

You know it!, Why don't they switch that annoying tab around, case to belt?

I can't remember the company but they make a metal flip cover. if you want the absolute thinnest and just want screen coverage that's your best bet I'd say.

I have the EB case and yes, I do remove the Ax to put into the cradle. Won't charge or sync in the case unless you use just cable. Besides that, I love that cradle w/ it's glowing blue Dell logo!:p

I went for the red/camel. I love the colour red and have a lot of red clothes and (not an issue for you) my handbag is red. Also, it's a bit more feminine than most things out there for geek toys. Sena apparently knows "geek" and "male" are not synonymous.

{For those interested Toy Biz needs to learn this lesson. Feel free to drop them a note re: They are not making Eowyn action figures in the LOTR line because - "We chose our characters based on traditional play patterns for boys," explains JoAnn McLaughlin, a senior VP at Toy Biz. "And they want the male role-model heroes." - puhleeze.}

That said, I thought the blue/black one was very nice looking and it goes with the glowing Dell logo :-)

From what i hear most people here are getting this case but i have few issues that are keeping me from ordering this thing. mainly that it has a magnet in it am paranoid to bring anything magnetic near my axim and as well as that it does not have a hole for the HEADPHONE jack, at least that is what i have seen. Anyone can stear me away from my fears? or a better case out there similar to this one? the vaja case is nice but same problem there it has two magnets near the screen?
