Fantasy Baseball & My Axim

Now that Spring Training under way, I'm looking forward to putting my Axim to good use this Fantasy Baseball season. Of course, I can use pocketexcel to do statistical analysis.

I also suspect there may be some roto news websites that I can add to My Mobile Favorites. I wish http://www.rotoworld.com was WAP enabled. Any suggestions?

But what I really want from my Axim, is to use my wi-fi card and remotely "watch" games in progress via either yahoo or cbssportsline like I do on my desktop pc...only I'll be doing it from the comfort of my couch, in front of the tv.

Does anyone have experience doing this last baseball season?

Any other tips on how an avid baseball fan can get the most out of their Axim?

For instance, I've already used the Infuzer on http://www.sportingnews.com/baseball.../schedule.html to add the 1st month schedule => Outlook2000 => Axim.

Thanks CJ!
I gave pdaschedule a try and it looks sweet!

More Good News...it looks like CBS.SportsLine.com is providing content for user's of PocketPCs:

Using SportsLine All the Time-Wireless, you can get news, scores, fantasy scoring & information, and more. Just type ppc.sportsline.com into your PocketPC's web browser address and get connected! :D

Anybody else have any MLB/fantasy jewels to add?

Go Sox!!!

Sorry falgun, I'm in 2 different closed private leagues - both on CBS.SportsLine.com. They also have public leagues you can join. I've done that before. This year however, CBS.SportsLine is charging $9.95 to play for the season. No more freebies like in the past. I better warn you though, it's VERY addictive :rolling:

Thanks...I found another good source for up-to-the-minute MLB news and just added it to the Aximsite Links site per your suggestion.

http://www.sportserver.com/baseball/mlb/v-pda/

for example:
Green Monster seats may be delayed
FORT MYERS, Fla. (02/19 7:24 p.m. EST) - Don't plan on sitting in those new Green Monster seats for the Boston Red Sox home opener.

Can't wait for opening day!

Has anybody had any luck trying to stream the Baseball games from MLB.com using the Pocket PC Real player?

You cannot stream MLB games withe the RealOne Player for Pocket PC. It does not support secure connections which MLB requires.

The game is on.

I can't get fantasy updates via ppc.sportsline.com
I can log in and see my league, but when i click on it, it says "The system is currently unavailable"

The yahoo game channel won't work because it requires two windows to be open at once (IMPORTANT: Do not close this window! It will cause the GameChannel applet to quit).

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore?gid=230330103
seems to work pretty well. If view in landscape mode with the PockeTop Inc. Driver, I can see both lineups with the play by play stuff (showing men on base, the count, last play info). I set my PocketIE View > text size to smallest to cram in as much as i could.

I'd love to hear anyone's suggestions on how to use my Axim to keep tabs on MLB action using my Axim. I'd really like to find a PIE friendly site that can give pitch-by-pitch updates like the yahoo game channel does.

For the rest of you baseball fans out there, ESPN seems to have the best scoreboard offering for PocketIE.

http://proxy.espn.go.com/mlb/wireles...oreboard?dvc=1

Just click on the game you want to watch, and watch the play-by-play.

Nice job! No need to view in landscape mode.

The only negatives are that there is no auto refresh and no breakdown on hits (i.e. 1B, 2B, 3B, HR's) in the boxscore.
