Format card message?

Occasionally when I turn on my axim I get a message asking if I want to format my cf card (which is already formatted and has stuff on it) I click no because I don't want to lose what's on it. After that my cf card is not recognized by the axim...it see's the card as blank in the file explorer. Then I take out the card and stick it back in and it works fine. It doesn't happen every time just when the card gets loose maybe? Has anyone had this problem?

Actually...it is. I knew they had issues but I thought that was just the card not being recognized at all, not just sometimes. Oh well, no big deal, it works fine the rest of the time, plus I got the 128 MB card for $30, so I can't complain.

I've had no trouble with mine, but it seems everytime someone says they have issues with their CF/SD card, its SanDisk.

I'd stay away from buying one until we figure out what is going on. :exc:

This problem will gradually get worse and worse until finally it doesn't work at all, and you will lose all data.

Return your SanDisk as soon as possible and replace it with a different brand.

This just happened to me today. Yesterday I recieved my 256Mb SanDisk SD memory card. I put about 20 MP3's on it, which filled up about 230 MB. This morning I listened to the MP3's without a problem. At lunchtime, the SD card appeared empty and the Axim asked me if i wanted to reformat it. I said yes, but now I can't put any files on it.....it gives that message that it's either full or write protected. I'm going to contact the company I bought it from to see how easily I can get it exchanged.
