Alternate link for self made screen protector?
Hi,

I just recieved my Axim in the mail today, however do not with to overuse it without any sort of screen protector on it. So, I went out to the store and bought some transparencies to make some of my own. However, the link previously posted for the self-made Axim screen protectors isn't working. Can anyone please post an alternate link or place to download these layouts?

Thanks

P.S. The link I tried is: http://www.jaytmedia.com/ppc/index.html

I don't know about the link, but be aware that it's possible to temporarily disable your unit by forcing the plastic sheet under the edge of the case around the screen. Any accidental pressure on the touch screen will interfere with intentional tapping, rendering it useless. Plastic debris from poorly cut sheets can become lodged under the case, and may be impossible to remove.

Not to mention don't feed transparencies through your laser printer directly unless you know they work together. I had a "color laser transparency" sheet that melted to the fusing roller of my color laser printer today.. apparently it wasn't the RIGHT kind of laser transparency sheet for my laser printer - or so the tech said who pulled it out.

That link is still good or this www.jaytmedia.com/ppc
I wish the stylus tip was made of a vinyl/plastic compound like the Handspring Visor. I never used protective sheets on it and there were few scratches after 2 years of use. Now the Axim has a hard plastic stylus tip and I do use Jay's Word document template but made it slightly longer. After a couple of weeks of use, it's got a lot of minor scratches

you're OK i think as long as you use a good brand and the right kind of transparency. i've been using the homemade ones for a while now and i'm really happy with it.

I've attached the word doc fr Jay's page for the template.

Bump for all those that still needed the template. *I forgot where I saved it on my pc. This is worth trying if you still dont have a protector.
